Market Expansion & Growth Programme

A structured programme to strengthen how you position your business, validate opportunities, and engage in new markets — locally or internationally.

Whether you’re pursuing growth in the New Zealand market, exploring a new opportunity or idea, entering export markets for the first time, or looking to expand further internationally, this programme provides a structured way to step back and assess how best to move forward.

Across a series of 2 to 4 sessions, the programme focuses on:

  • building a structured approach you can continue to apply independently over time
  • clarifying and strengthening your value proposition
  • assessing and validating new opportunities or ideas
  • positioning your business effectively for new markets or customers
  • preparing for commercial discussions with customers, partners, or stakeholders
  • evaluating risks and options with greater clarity
  • developing a structured approach to progressing specific opportunities
  • how you apply frameworks and practical tools to assess and progress opportunities effectively

HOW IT WORKS

This is a structured programme — not just a discussion.

Each session applies a clear framework to your business, helping you take a more objective and disciplined approach to commercial opportunities.

The programme covers:

1. Clarifying Your Positioning

Defining how your business creates value and how that is communicated to the market.

2. Validating Opportunities & Ideas

Applying a structured approach to assess whether an opportunity or idea is worth pursuing.

3. Structuring Opportunities

Understanding what’s required to pursue specific opportunities and how to approach them effectively.

4. Preparing for Commercial Engagement

Applying a structured approach to conversations, proposals, and decision-making.

5. Reviewing Options & Next Steps

Assessing risks, refining direction, and defining practical next steps.

Depending on your situation, areas are explored in more depth across 2 to 4 sessions.

Each session applies a clear framework, supported by practical tools, to help you take a more objective and disciplined approach to commercial opportunities.

These frameworks and tools can be reused to assess future opportunities and decisions.

INVESTMENT

The Market Positioning & Growth Programme is an approved Regional Business Partner Network (RBN) service.

Eligible businesses may qualify for co-funding support.

Where 50% RBN co-funding is approved, the indicative client contribution would be NZ$450 to NZ$900 + GST, depending on the agreed programme scope.

Funding is subject to eligibility, Growth Advisor approval and available funding. The final scope, number of sessions and cost are agreed through the RBN proposal and approval process before the programme begins.

NEXT STEPS

If you are considering strengthening your market position, entering new markets or identifying practical growth opportunities, the best place to start is with a conversation.

We can discuss your current situation, the markets or opportunities you are considering, what you want to achieve, and whether the Market Positioning & Growth Programme is the right fit.

If RBN support may be appropriate, I can also explain the process and what happens next.
